Service description:

The Metal Stitching process undertaken by us is a precise mechanical method of making permanent repair of broken castings and machine parts. We ensure that no post-repair machining is required to correct misalignment and warp age as we don't use heat, which leads to stresses. Further there is no heat, metal stitching repairs can be undertaken in restricted areas where flames or welding are prohibited. So,  repairs can be carried out at your site, without the need of major disassembly.

Understanding Cast Iron

Cast iron only cracks when it is stressed beyond its tensile strength. This includes all heat related cracks, freeze damage, impact and bending loads. Cast iron will not weaken over time. However It will change if exposed to high temperatures over long periods of time like exhaust manifolds or wood burning stoves. This occurrence is called graphitization. The carbon is changed to graphite and any type of welding that requires melting the cast iron becomes very difficult because the filler metal will not bond properly. Brazing is also not effective since the iron is not melted during the process.
